About Stride Over Stigma
Stride Over Stigma is a 5K run/walk for mental health. October is National Depression Education and Awareness Month and The Fishers Running Club is organizing this event to raise money for The Peyton Riekhof Foundation for Youth Hope. The foundation provides hope to the youth in the community by providing programs that educate, create awareness and destigmatize mental illness.
The purpose of this 5K is to help those in our community learn more about the signs, symptoms, and treatment options for depression and other mental illnesses. There will be health care providers available to screen depression and provide resources.
Ultimately, our goal is that all attendees understand that seeking help — either from a counselor, a trusted friend, or your community — is a sign of hope and strength.
